Waiting for the Cormark IPO
When is Cormark Securities (formerly Sprott Securities) going to take itself public? They are having another great year, ensuring the type of financial results you need to attract investors.
Every Canadian dealer that has gone public has seen an overnight bump in their “brand quality”. Both GMP Securities and Canaccord were more valuable brands when they became public companies, despite no other changes to the team or business model. Just by the sheer process of going public. And they’ve never looked back.
Gluskin Sheff shares has started to perform very well since their recent IPO, so I’d think that the buyside will be warm to the idea of another financial services play.
