“Joel Sutherland has left Merrill Lynch to join Scotia Capital as their new Media Analyst, filling the void Andrew Mitchell left (BB, Jan 11).

Karen Taylor, BMO Capital Markets’ Pipeline and Power Analyst, is stepping away for some family time. Enjoy Karen.

Joseph Gallucci, Research Associate at BMO Capital Markets has left to be an Associate for David Charles, Mining Analyst at GMP Securities.

At the same time, BMO Capital Markets hired a pair of Investment Banking Analysts. Martha Vallance and Ruslan Tenev have joined the Mining Team.

Jennings Capital has brought on a new Mining Research team. Peter Campbell (Analyst) and Mark Turner (Associate) came over from Loewen Ondaatje McCutcheon (“LOM”).

On the hiring side for LOM, Dean McPherson has joined as an Associate in Investment Banking. He was previously at Haywood Securities where he was a Research Associate in Telecom.

Conrad Kluge has joined the Equity Research team at Blackmont Capital as an Associate in Calgary, working with Martin Pelletier, Director, Energy Research. Kluge was previously in Sales at Clarington Investments.

Blackmont has also hired Ray Sawicki as their new Chief Investment Officer. Sawicki was most recently at RBC Asset Management.

Khai Ha has joined Epic Capital Management as an Analyst. Ha was previously at Moore Capital which shut down its Canadian offices recently.

Jonathan Pinto has joined the Investment Banking team at M Partners. Pinto was previously an Analyst at Research Capital.”
