Macquarie Capital Markets has announced the hires of Phil Watanabe and Scott Lindow as Senior Vice Presidents, Institutional Trading. Most recently, Phil was at TD Newcrest and Scott was at UBS Securities.

Argentex Mining Corporation has appointed Mark Vanry Executive Vice President of Corporate Development. Previously, Mark was Managing Director and Head of Equity Sales at Canaccord Adams.

Thomas Weisel has announced the following hires to their Investment Banking and Sales Teams:

Joe Carey as Managing Director and Head of North America Energy, based out of New York. Most recently, Joe was Head of the Natural Resources Group at Banc of America

Also from Banc of America Les Franks joins as an Investment Banking Managing Director covering Healthcare Services in New York

Zach Maurus joined the San Francisco office as Managing Director and Head of Internet & New Media. Most recently, Zach was Head of Global Internet & New Media at Credit Suisse

Also from Credit Suisse but in Toronto, Geoff Cohen joined as Director, Mergers & Acquisitions in the Natural Resources space

Damian Lyons Lowe joins the Institutional Sales team in London from Jefferies

RBC Capital Markets has hired Jay Caldwell from Banc of America as Managing Director, Investment Banking covering Aerospace, Transportation and Defence Companies.

BMO Capital Markets has announced the following U.S. hires:
Alan Laws joins as Senior Equity Analyst, Energy from Merrill Lynch
Analyst, Phillip Junwirth, also moving over from Merrill Lynch, will cover U.S. Exploration and Production companies
Finally, Ambrish Srivastava is rejoining as a Semiconductor Analyst after a move to the buy-side

Analyst, George Toriola has joined UBS Securities from Scotia Capital and will cover International Oil and Gas.

Marc Robinson has joined Cormark Securities in Institutional Equity Research covering Agriculture/ Fertilizer and Special Situations. Most recently, Marc was Vice President and Partner at Lawrence Asset Management.

John Mould has joined TD Newcrest as an Equity Research Associate, Alternative Energy. Previously John was at Fraser Mackenzie as an Equity Research Associate.

Also moving from Fraser Mackenzie is Kumail Gangjee who has joined N M Rothschild & Sons as an Investment Banking Analyst in Montreal.
