Richard Scott golf update
As financiers, we try to identify the best firms early, and back them with our capital. We’ve applied that same approach to our own corporate activities.
Wellington Financial is one of golfer Richard Scott’s corporate sponsors, along with clothier Cutter & Buck and Titleist. Richard turned pro last December, after winning three of three past four Canadian amateur championships. Here is a report from his most recent events as he tries to make his way onto the PGA Tour:
“I just got through playing my first two professional events. Both were events on the Tar Heel tour and were located in Mt. Pleasant South Carolina, near Charleston. I had a top ten finish in my first start, which I was pleased with. I’m constantly working hard to improve and I know that things are moving in the right direction. I’m excited about continuing my schedule on the Hooters Tour and the Canadian Tour the rest of the season. I am also going to travel to Louisiana for the first monday qualifier on the Nationwide Tour. I will keep in touch periodically, to let you know what’s happening with me on the road.”
Richard is playing in the Chitimacha Louisiana Open qualifier on March 21st on the Nationwide Tour. If Richard doesn’t play his way onto the tournament, he will head to the National Golf Association Hooter’s Tour event for that week.
Best of luck, Richard.
