Danny King makes the cut at 1st round of Q-school

If you play golf, you’ll probably have heard of the PGA Tour’s Qualifying School. Pretty much anyone who plays well professionally can enter it seems, and there are a series of 3 stages. But getting into the tournament isn’t the same as getting through it. If you get through all three and you’re part of the top 25 scores (and ties), you get your PGA card for the next season. Voila. The big time.

Our man Danny King (WF is one of his sponsors) played the first stage this week in Spring, Texas at Cypresswood Golf Club, one of the six different courses hosting 1st round events this year. After a rough start on day one (+1) and day two (+4), Danny settled down and went 4 under and 5 under to close out a minus 4, placing him 10th in the group. A great final round with 7 birdies made the difference, and Danny made it through the first round.

Danny will be off to the 2nd round on November 10th. Congrats!
