“Michael Urlocker joins GMP Securities as their Hardware Technology Analyst. Prior to this move, Michael owned a management consulting business known as The Disruption Group which helped companies manage and overcome commoditization risk.

Fred Kerr, formerly an Institutional Equity Salesperson at First Energy Capital and before that Investor Relations at PetroCanada, has joined Acumen Capital Partners on their sales team.

Ali Abbas has joined CPPIB as a Senior Analyst in the Derivatives Group. Ali was previously at TD Securities where he was an Analyst in the Structured Equity Derivatives Group.

Kelly Woodall has joined Vancouver-based, money-management firm Cypress Capital Management Ltd. as an Associate Portfolio Manager to focus on income trusts and small-capitalized stocks. Woodall joins the firm from Bloom Investment Counsel.

Corey Dias and Damian Wojcichowsky have joined M Partners as Research Analysts covering the Tech/Special Sits and Tech/Transportation spaces respectively. Corey was previously at Versant Partners and Damian at Credit Suisse.

And MGI Securities has “re-deployed” its Forest Products Research Analyst, Robbie Duncan, into the alternative energy space, recognizing the nascent potential of the sector and the hard realities of the “old economy” industries.
