Sunnybrook's One Night Live concert

For those of you that have been through Women’s College Hospital in Toronto, either as a baby or as new parents, there’s a concert you should know about. On February 28th, Sunnybrook Foundation is hosting “One Night Live” at the Air Canada Centre. The four featured acts are Bryan Adams, Josh Groban, Sarah McLachlan and Jann Arden. I just saw a Josh Groban holiday CD for sale at Starbucks, so the organizers have obviously tapped into someone at the leading edge of their fame. The other three headliners are well established stars in Canada and around the world.

The money raised from this impressive event will help build the new birthing and Neonatal Intensive Care Units at Sunnybrook Hospital. The longstanding delivery and critical care unit at Women’s College will be moving to Sunnybrook’s campus in 2010 once the new wing is completed.

This concert is part of the effort to raise the $50 million required to outfit the Perinatal and Gynecology Wing currently under construction. Our recent drive to raise $170,000 for a neonatal echocardiography imaging system is a small part of this $50 million fundraising campaign (hint: success will be declared soon on our specific project).
