Business Plan Support
This blog (sorry, I meant to use the new VC-friendly catch phrase “user-generated content”) idea has its supporters and, perhaps, detractors, in our shop. But each day that goes by we get independent validation that, as a venue, business blogs are here to stay.
Since we began ours about 10 weeks ago, weekday traffic to our site has more than doubled (and still growing), and weekend traffic has tripled (interesting to note when some people do their blog reads)
The most recent validation was a link we received from a U.S. business plan support site. Seems that someone there found Kul’s post on amortizing versus non-amortizing structures worthy of aggregating there. Now, the dearth of comments on our blog can sometimes be taken as a hint (ie, no one cares), but Jason saw a study that explained all: 98% of blog readers are what were called “lurkers”. As in, they will lurk around your blog but don’t actually want to engage, or even perhaps let you (and others) know they were there.
The entire point of this blog was to share some of our domain knowledge with our prospective clients and partners. Glad to see that our “lending tutorial” theme is getting some traction. More to come. We’re here to serve.
